So, you want to know more about our Troop.  Outstanding!

Out troop was founded in 1918.  At that time, it was Troop 3.  Once the Capital Area Council was officially established, our troop number was officially set to 109.  The First United Methodist Church has been our sponsor for all of that time!!  We'd like to give a big thanks to that church for all the support that they've given us.  Troop 109 is the longest continually charter Troop in our area (there is one other troop in Austin that is older than us, but they have been charter under a couple of different organizations).  So, Troop 109 is very special in this regards.

One of the firm beliefs that we have is that of youth leadership. We allow the youth to run the troop as much as possible, with advice and guidance from the adult leaders, of course. For nearly a century, Troop 109 has provided scouts with real-life experiences that help them apply their leadership skills at an early age. We strive to continue that tradition.

For nearly a Century,  have had the great honor of helping many young men reach their dreams of making Eagle.  Click here to see our list of Eagles!

Meeting information:

Date:

Tuesday Nights at 7:15PM

Address:

313 West San Antonio Street

Location:

We meet in the Family Life Center of the First United Methodist Church, Lockhart Texas.  It's the big building in back of the Church.

Lockhart, TX is located about 40 miles south of Austin in Caldwell County.  Take 183 south from Austin (or North from Lulling), and you'll run right into Lockhart.  Our actual meeting place is on San Antonio St. (turn west onto San Antonio St. from 183) the First United Methodist Church (It's the church with the big statue of Jesus carved in front of the building.)  Thanks to the Church, we now meet in their new building which is directly behind the main Church.

Meetings last about 90 minutes.  Hope to see you!
