Welcome to Troop 109!
This is the home page for Boy Scouts of America, Troop 109 in Lockhart Texas. Thanks for stopping by! Hope you have fun at our site. Drop by and see us if you are in town. Our troop is out of Lockhart Texas. We are sponsored by the First United Methodist Church in Lockhart, Texas. We are in the Capital Area Council, in the Twin Valley District. We are very proud of the fact that our troop has provided 87 years of continuous service to the youth in the Lockhart area. If you are looking for an established troop with some outstanding history, this is the troop for you!! We strongly believe in the Boy Scout philosophy that a boy scout troop is BOY run. The adults will provide the scouts in our troop with the tools they need, we will stand beside them as they lead, and we will provide constructive feedback along the way. Our Yearly Calendar is created by the scouts who lead this troop, with input from the those in their patrols and guidance from the Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmasters. This was the vision the of the founder of Scouting, Baden-Powell. Our sponsoring organization , First United Methodist Church in Lockhart, Texas, provides us with an outstanding place to meet! We meet in the Family Life Center located behind the Church. The address is: 313 West San Antonio Street, in Lockhart Texas. The Family Life Center contains several classrooms for the scouts to meet in. It also has a full size gymnasium in which you can find the scouts playing games from basketball to various scouting games.
